Several charges laid following assault on May Street North
A man is facing several charges after police in Thunder Bay responded to two assaults.
Officers were sent to May Street North on Tuesday evening in response to an assault that was actively taking place.
They were told that a male and a female were assaulting another female.
On scene, officers spoke to witnesses who tried to stop the assault.
Both suspects had approached the witnesses on their property.
One of the witnesses was assaulted by an edged weapon and sustained a minor injury.
As a result, a 29-year-old is facing several charges, including:
- Assault with a weapon (two counts)
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Forcible entry
- Disguise with intent
- Obstruct a peace officer
- Failure to comply with probation order (three counts)
The accused appeared in court on Wednesday, and they remain in custody with a future court date.
The Thunder Bay Police Service is still investigating the situation.
