Residents weigh-in on International Falls band shell rebuild
The city of International Falls has released the results of a survey on the direction it should take to replace its band shell.
Nearly 50% of all respondents and 51% of Falls residents support a new band shell looking like the old one.
Forty-one percent and 38% of Falls residents favour a more modern multi-use structure that proposes a covered gathering space for large gatherings, as well as a stage for musical performances.
Less than 10% favoured not rebuilding and leaving the area as green space.
Just 162 Falls residents offered an opinion, with another 69 residents from elsewhere in Koochiching County and 25 from outside of the county weighing in on the survey.
The former band shell was built in the 1940s and destroyed in an arson fire in April 2024.
