Respiratory outbreak expands at Fort Frances senior home
A respiratory outbreak has expanded at Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances.
It was initially declared in the home’s east wing.
Visitor restrictions and masking protocols are in place.
Residents are permitted only two (2) visitors or caregivers at any one time.
Visitors are encouraged to visit only one person each trip and to remain in the resident’s room, not common areas.
Medical masking is required for all visitors.
Staff may require visitors to wear additional personal protective equipment (PPE).
Restrictions on admissions, transfers, discharges and large group social activities for residents are also cancelled until further notice.
Riverside Health Care is asking all visitors to self-screen before entering.
Individuals experiencing any symptoms of illness should stay away for the protection of residents and staff.
In the meantime, a gastrointestinal outbreak that was also declared in the west wing on the weekend has now been resolved.
