Deloitte Canada names Thunder Bay business among fastest growing tech companies nationally
An international consulting and advisory firm’s Canada branch has named a Thunder Bay tech company as one of the 50 fastest-growing in the country.
Deloitte Canada offers consulting, audit, tax, and financial advisory services to businesses, as well as government bodies.
Additionally, the organization ranks tech companies nationally based on growth and innovation.
Thunder Bay-founded Uride has ranked 38th on Deloitte Canada’s 2025 Technology Fast 50, after achieving 883 per cent growth over the past four years.
Uride is the first Thunder Bay company ever to appear on this list.
“I’ve lost friends to impaired driving, and I know people who’ve taken a life while driving drunk,” explained Uride Founder and CEO Cody Ruberto.
“In small towns like ours, the rate of deaths caused by impaired driving is seven times higher than in big cities that have ridesharing. That’s why we started Uride. It was never about building a company; it was about making sure people always had a safe ride home.”
Uride has grown to 26 cities across Canada and Mexico and is preparing for expansion into Germany.
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone in Thunder Bay who supported us from day one,” added Ruberto.
“There’s no chance we’d be here without you. I hope this inspires people here to see a problem in their community and go fix it, you really can make a difference. Let’s get another 10 Thunder Bay companies on the list in the next few years!”
According to Uride, the company has seen 13,000 per cent growth since 2017.
