The Dryden GM Ice Dogs still hold down first place in the Superior International Junior Hockey League.
The Ice Dogs played only one game over the weekend, but defeated the Fort Frances Lakers 8-5 Friday night.
The Lakers split their games over the weekend, doubling up the Kam River Fighting Walleye 6-3 Sunday night.
The Sioux Lookout Bombers remain in second place in the SIJHL standings after splitting their games with the Thunder Bay North Stars.
The Bombers won 4-3 over the North Stars Friday night, but lost 8-2 on Saturday to Thunder Bay.
The Lakehead University men’s hockey team has run its winning streak to three games.
The Thunderwolves downed the Western University Mustangs in a pair of games over the weekend.
On Friday, Lakehead earned a 4-2 win and Saturday, the Thunderwolves got by the Mustangs 5-3.
Up next for Lakehead is the Toronto Metropolitan Bold on Friday.
