Miners have 3 players named to Holiday Showcase
Playing in the upcoming Holiday Showcase will be an exciting experience for three members of the Red Lake Miners.
Defenceman Bradyn Rowsell will be joined by forwards Bryant Linklater and Noah Tenney for the two-game event on Friday January 2 and Saturday January 3 at Fort William Gardens.

“Having two of your good buddies make the team just makes it even more fun and exciting,” said Linklater. “I heard in the middle of November that they were potentially considering me for the games and then found out I made the roster by the end of the month.”
The Regina, Saskatchewan product has 13 points in 19 games this season, which is his second with the Miners.
Eighteen skaters and two goalies make up the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL) squad that will face the Lakehead Thunderwolves over two nights.
Bradyn Rowsell (Fort McMurray, Alberta) is playing in his last year of junior hockey and has 41 points in 93 games with the Miners in three seasons.
“I was excited to hear that I was selected for this event,” Rowsell noted. “I found out during a call with my Coach (Billy Keane) that I would make the team. I had no idea that I was being considered for the event until I got that call.”
Noah Tenney (Edmonton, Alberta) has played in 105 regular season games with the Miners (28 goals, 54 assists, 82 points). Tenney feels it’ll be pretty easy to separate regular season rivalries for a few days.
“When we are with our teams and on the ice obviously it can get pretty intense, but we all are here just to play hockey at the end of the day,” Tenney added. “A lot of guys you will hate when you play against them, but if you talk with them off the ice, they are some of the nicest guys. I don’t know any of the other players personally that were selected, but I have had some chats with them on the ice before games.
The SIJHL squad will be made up of four members from the Sioux Lookout Bombers, Fort Frances Lakers and Thunder Bay North Stars along with three players from the Kam River Fighting Walleye. The Dryden GM Ice Dogs will contribute two players for the event.
