Snowfall expected to start the new year in N.B.
New Brunswick may be starting the new year with a significant snowfall.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement and said a low-pressure system is expected to move in on Thursday and continue into Friday morning.
The agency said 15 to 30 centimetres of snow is possible across most regions except the northwest.
The heaviest snowfall is expected on Thursday evening, and the track of the system remains uncertain, according to Environment Canada.
The timing of the storm could make travel difficult on highways and local roads.
A reminder to check transit, ferry, and flight schedules ahead of time, as delays or disruptions may occur due to weather conditions.
Environment Canada said it will continue to monitor the system and will update its forecasts as conditions become clearer.
