NOHFC funds for Mount Evergreen
More money for the Mount Evergreen Ski Hill in Kenora.
$88,350 has been granted through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford says this is a valuable piece of recreational infrastructure for the community.
“It’s another recreational asset we’ve had a lot of fun investing in,” says Rickford.
“Mount Evergreen provides a ski, and tobogganing, and cross-country service that community folks really appreciate. Whether it’s been lighting, trail-grooming or creating new trails.”
Rickford says he’s pleased the Ontario government was able to help out.
“You know having a ski hill that has all the modern capacities to hopefully inspire a couple of young people to go on to greater things in the sport of ski.”
The funding will be used to replace the tow cables on the two lifts at the ski hill.
