New Gold reaches production target at Rainy River mine
More than 290,000 ounces of gold were mined at New Gold’s Rainy River mine in 2025.
The company aimed to produce between 265,000 and 295,000 ounces.
The goal was reached, with 94,423 ounces of gold produced over the last three months, bringing full-year production to 290,236 ounces.
The company says it also saw a 45% improvement in production within its underground operations.
President Patrick Godin says operations are well-positioned to deliver another strong year in 2026.
“Rainy River delivered another standout quarter of free cash flow generation, surpassing the previous record set in the third quarter, leading to the Company generating over $532 million in free cash flow in a year that prioritized ramping up growth initiatives,” says Godin.
New Gold is in the process of completing a deal that will see U.S.-based Couer Mining take over its operations.
Shareholders are voting on the deal later this month.
