Public school board establishes AI framework, committee
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has unveiled a framework that outlines guidelines for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its schools.
Staff already have access to a number of programs.
The framework provides a list of board-approved programs.
The Board says that when used responsibly, AI has great potential for staff and students.
A committee has been established to review and approve programs for educational purposes.
Protocols are in place to protect the privacy of staff and students as A-I becomes more prominent.
The policy also notes that AI will not be used to assign grades, make high-stakes student decisions or monitor students.
