Weather/stuck transports keep Highways 11 & 17 east of Nipigon closed
Highway 17 between Nipigon and Schreiber was shut down for several hours on Saturday
Poor road conditions and multiple transports that became stuck were cited as reasons.
Highway 11 east of Nipigon to Beardmore was also closed, initially caused by a jack-knifed transport.
Minor injuries were reported by Provincial Police in that incident
Highway traffic cameras showed barricades at the intersection of Highways 11 and 17.
The highways were reopened to traffic late Saturday night.
