Sioux Lookout’s MRI delivered
A new MRI unit is one step closer to being in use in Sioux Lookout.
The MRI is a product of GE Health Care and was delivered Tuesday to the Meno Ya Win Health Centre.
It was lifted by crane and placed in the modular suite.
Michelle Beaulne is the Director of Corporate Services and says this is another step forward in the MRI project.
“With the MRI now delivered into the modular suite, the final phases of construction and installation will begin,” says Beaulne.
“Contractors will begin completion of all required service connections, including completion of the interior spaces, while GE Healthcare will jointly begin installation and setup of the MRI. This will include extensive testing and validation through the entire process.”
Arianna Kitching is the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and says the new MRI has a number of special features.
“The GE Healthcare SIGNA™ Voyager 1.5T MRI…featuring AIR™ Coils that are designed to provide superior patient comfort through its lightweight and flexible design, ensures easier positioning and faster scan times,”
The MRI is expected to be up and running by the fall.
