NOMA conference begins this week in Thunder Bay
Municipal councils are taking a break this week to attend the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association conference in Thunder Bay.
It begins on Wednesday.
Dryden CAO Roger Nesbitt says they’ll use the opportunity to continue their dialogue with provincial cabinet ministers in attendance.
“We requested some time with ministries and ministers that will be attending the conference,” Nesbitt informed council recently.
“We want to continue our discussions around the unincorporated territory around the Dryden community and the financial pressures that puts on our municipal ratepayers. We also want to talk to Municipal Affairs and Housing about infrastructure funding and the Ministry of Transportation to talk about a few topics.”
Nesbitt says they also want to talk to the Transportation Minister about their proposal for daily air passenger service out of the Dryden Airport.
