Fires banned over May long weekend
You didn’t find a lot of roasting marshmallows and hot dogs over an open fire over the past few days.
The May long weekend is traditionally the beginning of tenting and trailer season, but burn bans meant campfires couldn’t be lit.
The New Brunswick fire watch map is still red on Tuesday morning, which means no burning is permitted.
It will be updated at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
As of 6 am Tuesday, 11 fires were being patrolled in New Brunswick, but none are reportedly out of control.
