OPP investigating series of vehicle thefts in Kenora and Sioux Narrows
The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a series of vehicle thefts in the Kenora and Sioux Narrows areas that investigators believe may be connected.
Police say three separate thefts occurred on June 6 and share similarities in both timing and method.
The first incident happened at about 12:15 p.m. when a black 2011 Ram 1500 towing a trailer was stolen from a property on Airport Road in Kenora. Police say the truck was last seen travelling northbound on Airport Road after cutting off another pickup truck.
Later that afternoon, sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., a blue 2017 Sea-Doo Spark was stolen from a residence on Clarence Street in Kenora. The watercraft was shrink-wrapped and secured to a white double personal watercraft trailer.
The third theft occurred at about 10:30 p.m. when a black 2019 GMC Sierra was taken from a driveway on Lakeview Terrace Drive in Sioux Narrows. Police say a suspect arrived in another pickup truck, got out, entered the victim’s vehicle and drove away.
Police seeking witnesses
The OPP says investigators are particularly interested in speaking with the driver of a white pickup truck that was cut off during the first theft on Airport Road.
Police are also looking for anyone who may have seen suspicious people or vehicles in the Kenora or Sioux Narrows areas on June 6.
Investigators are asking residents and motorists to review any surveillance or dashcam footage from Airport Road, Clarence Street, Highway 71 and surrounding areas.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
