Construction begins on Phase 2 of Bayers Road transit corridor
Work is now underway on the second phase of Halifax’s Bayers Road Transit Priority Corridor, a project aimed at improving transit reliability and preparing the streets for future rapid bus service.
The latest phase will focus on Bayers Road between Connaught Avenue and Windsor Street.
The city say the upgrades are intended to help create a more efficient transit network while supporting future transit expansion plans.
The municipality is also coordinating with Halifax Water to incorporate planned utility upgrades as part of the project.
Construction began this week and is expected to take approximately two years to complete.
The Bayers Road Transit Priority Corridor is one of several transportation projects designed to improve the movement of buses and reduce delays along key routes in Halifax.
