Fort Frances couple wins Kenora cash draw
A last-minute ticket purchase has earned a Fort Frances couple just over $31,000.
Barb and Tom Bedard are winners of the Lake of the Woods Hospital Foundation’s summer 50/50 cash draw.
The Bedards purchased tickets earlier in the summer but decided one more purchase the night before the draw’s deadline.
It was a ticket from that purchase that turned out to be the winner.
The jackpot of $31,335 was the largest cash prize the Foundation had given away in more than a year.
The Foundation is using proceeds from its draw toward the Beyond the Scan Campaign which is supporting the improvements to the Kenora hospital’s diagnostic department that includes a new MRI that was put into service this past weekend.
