There are several wildland fires burning in the Rainy River District.
Three were fought by members of the Chapple, Emo & La Vallee Fire & Emergency Services.
One on Highway 71 near the Chapple North Fire Hall is now listed as out.
Another Rittau Road in LaVallee Township has also been declared out.
A third on Highway 615, just east of the Off Lake Church, is listed as under control.
That section of Highway 615 is closed, while Provincial Police advise motorists to avoid both highways for time being.
Morley Township’s Fire Services is also battling its own wildfire, prompting a ban on open burning from the township.
The use of burn barrels and fire pits is still allowed.
There is also a wildland fire burning near Mine Centre.
The MNR lists the fire as not under control and having burned over 20 hectares.
