Grand Slam of Curling gets $250,000 from CEDC
The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission’s (CEDC) Tourism Development Fund is granting a hefty sum to the Grand Slam of Curling.
The event, which was last hosted in Thunder Bay in 2018, is slated for December 1 to 6 at the Fort William Gardens.
The Tourism Development Fund is granting $250,000 to the Grand Slam, with the CEDC explaining that the event is expected to generate $5 million of economic activity for the city.
“By investing in events like the Grand Slam of Curling, we strengthen our visitor economy, support local businesses, and continue showcasing Thunder Bay as a destination capable of hosting world-class events,” says Jamie Taylor, CEO of the CEDC.
The event will feature the world’s top 16 men’s and women’s curling teams.
