Harbour Bridge construction set to begin again
Spring has sprung, so it’s time for work to once again begin on the Harbour Bridge.
It’s going to look a little different this year, though.
According to a release from the City of Saint John, there should not be any long-term lane closures this year.
There may still be short-term lane closures occasionally, including temporary single-lane closures in 2027.
There will be minimal 20-minute full bridge closures this year, similar to 2025.
And there will be ramp closures and Harbour Passage detours this year, through 2028, for bearing replacements.
The first significant disruption begins Monday, with the temporary closure of a section of Harbour Passage from Hilyard Street to Fort LaTour.
The closure is necessary to safely work on the underside of the Harbour Bridge ramp, and will continue through the duration of the construction.
