Independent MLA Becky Druhan expected to join Nova Scotia Liberals
The Nova Scotia Liberals are set to increase their caucus by one seat, going from two MLAs to three.
According to a report from CBC News, multiple sources say independent MLA Becky Druhan is expected to make an announcement on Monday that she is joining the Liberal Party.
Druhan was first elected in 2021 as the Progressive Conservative (PC) MLA for Lunenburg West.
She previously served as minister of education and later as justice minister and attorney general under the PC government, but left the party in October, citing differences in principle with party leadership.
The Liberals are scheduled to hold a press conference on the South Shore at 11 a.m. AT.
