Kenora Picklerball Club – Ladders June 3
By Jim Mowrey, Jun Laffin and James Tkachyk
Wednesday Morning Ladders got off to a great start. Thirty two players all trying to move “up the ladder”.
It is nice to be a part of all the talking and friendship being shared by all players… it is nice, very nice.
Rain cut short most of the games but we still got enough games in to make the score count.
In Group 1 – there were lots of lopsided games but Murray Bamforth got away with no losses… doesn’t happen very often in group one. Way to go Murray.
Group 2 – Charmaine Fregeau and James Tkachyk came out on top. Lots of very close games.
Group 3 – Blake Stockham came out on top and is the “901 Westside Restaurant “Player of the Game”.. good work Blake
Group 4 – Christina Toth tied with Gord Cavanagh for top spot.
Wednesday Evening Ladders was cancelled due to the rain. Everybody will be more than ready for next week..
Thursday Morning Ladders – On a near perfect day at the Garrow pickleball courts 28 members once again attempted to make a move up the ladder. All players appeared to give it their best once again, but at the end of the day there was not a lot of movement. In Group 1, Murray Bamforth finished in the top spot, with Lilian Lontra a close 2nd. In Group 2, it was Ingrid Braun on top. In Group 3 it was another close battle with Paulette Gratton coming out on top by just one point.
The A&W player of the week is Murray Bamforth. When you are on top of the ladder, you can’t move up, but if you can stay at the top for 3 weeks in a row, then Murray, you earn player of the week.
