N.B. priorities to dominate discussion as Premier Holt travels to Ontario
Economic growth, defence industrial strategy, and major project development are just a few of the topics to be discussed during Premier Susan Holt’s visit to Ontario.
She’ll travel to Ottawa and Toronto on Monday and Tuesday to meet with Prime Minister Mark Carney and other federal ministers, including Dominic Leblanc, minister of internal trade and minister responsible for Canada-U.S. trade, intergovernmental affairs, Sean Fraser, minister of justice and attorney general and minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, and Marjorie Michel, minister of health.
“New Brunswick has what the world needs, and we’re working with partners across the country to unlock that potential,” said Holt. “Our focus is on making sure New Brunswick is at the centre of the major projects and defence investments that will shape our country’s future.”
Holt says she plans to push for federal partnerships in things like energy infrastructure, critical minerals development and healthcare.
She will also join other premiers participating in the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Future of Business Summit, where she will promote New Brunswick as a key partner in building Canada’s economic future.
