Nearly $2M worth of cocaine found during traffic stop
Police in Thunder Bay have charged two people after a traffic stop turned up a massive stash of cocaine.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers pulled over a vehicle just before 11:30 a.m. on October 29 in the municipality of Shuniah for violating the Highway Traffic Act.
During that stop, officers discovered 18 kilograms of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle.
OPP say that amount of drugs has an estimated street value of $1.8 million dollars.
Following further investigation, officers arrested a 26-year-old from Oshawa and 29-year-old from Ajax.
The accused were held for bail and will appear in court in Thunder Bay at a later date on trafficking charges.
