New subdivision proposed off Airport Road
A new residential subdivision is being proposed off of Airport Road.
It would located on some vacant property on Johnson Road.
City planner Ryan Haines says that they are working with the developer to widen Johnson Road.
“This is a very narrow roadway,” Haines said in his planning report to city council.
“So, it is currently 10 meters in width. Typically, for a municipal right of way the preferred width is 20 meters. In discussions with the developer, we’ve discussed a turnover of 5 meters so that’s 15 meters.”
Haines says the developer would tap into the city’s sewer and water system, to make to lots fully serviceable.
“It was felt by our engineering department and the developer to strike a balance…to make the lots developable, while providing enough room for city infrastructure and future road maintenance,”
The lots would be zoned R-1, which means as many as 3 units could be included in construction.
