Nuclear waste transportation tour features 12 stops
We the Nuclear Free North is teaming up with Northwatch to offer workships about the federal review of the nuclear waste repository near Ignace.
In particular, they are concerned about the transportation of spent nuclear fuel through northwestern Ontario.
They have launched a 12-town tour of workshops, which started Sunday in Sault Ste. Marie.
Workshops will also be held later this month in Kenora, Dryden, Ignace, Thunder Bay and Sudbury.
The public has until May 10th to comment on a submission made to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
