Airplane shot at while working wildland fire near Orr, MN
Minnesota authorities are looking into the shooting of an air plane that was involving in fire suppression efforts south of International Falls.
St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says the Air Tractor, a single-engine aircraft under contract of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, was working a wildland fire near Orr at the time.
When it returned to Hibbing, a hole in the tail was noticed.
Authorities believe it was struck by a bullet after schooping water from Kjodstad Lake Lake.
The pilot was not hurt.
