Beechville

No reported injuries at a HAZMAT situation in Beechville, Friday morning.

In a post on social media the Halifax Professional Fire Fighters say there was a chemical reaction at a commercial facility on Horseshoe Lake Drive near Susie Lake Crescent in the Bayers Lake Business Park.

“Our specialized Hazardous Materials Technicians are working to safely manage the situation,” says the fire union. “These incidents can be complex, requiring careful planning ongoing monitoring, and specialized equipment to ensure the safety of everyone involved.”

It is unclear at this time which building was affected; however, the union says members are expected to remain on scene for a while and ask you to avoid the area.
