A 53-year-old man has been killed in a crash on Highway 2 near Burton, New Brunswick.

RCMP say it happened early Thursday morning in the eastbound lanes.

They add the construction worker was struck by a transport truck and died at the scene.

WorkSafeNB and the RCMP continue to investigate.
