Fort Frances dog park decision delayed by campground review

A decision on a dog park in Fort Frances is still on hold.

Fort Frances council was presented with further information from an advisory committee that has identified green space on Lillie Avenue near Legion Park for the park.

Council wants to wait for a report from administration on a potential campground at the same site.

The committee provided council with its review of others areas for a dog park, including sites near the community garden in the town’s north end and near the Fort Frances Curling Club.

It favours the Lillie Avenue location because it is central and in proximity to services such as water and bathrooms.

Areas near the wastewater treatment plant, Phair Avenue Park, and Nelson Street Park were also reviewed.

The town has not given any indication of how long it will take before the report on the campground is ready for council’s review.
