Fort Frances man wins over $24,500 in Riverside Health Care draw

A near-record jackpot in September’s 50/50 cash draw for Riverside Health Care.

More than $24,500 was won by Roger Spencer of Fort Frances.

The prize is the second-largest to be awarded since Riverside began its draws last year as part of the campaign to fund a new MRI unit at LaVerendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances and digital radiology equipment at LaVerendrye and Rainy River Health Centre.

The large jackpot was awarded this past January, with the prize topping over $27,000.

“Every ticket purchased helps us invest in health care here at home, and we are so grateful for the continued support of our communities,” states Holly Kaemingh, Director of Fundraising, in a release.

Kaemingh says they are now looking at what she calls ‘exciting’ fundraising projects for the future, with the details to be revealed at a later date.

Tickets for October’s 50/50 cash draw are now on sale.
