One last ride at the Halifax Common skatepark Wednesday

A Halifax skatepark is getting one last hurrah on Wednesday.

The city says they will close the park on Thursday to start the work to demolish and replace the current one.

It will be redone with a new layout, lights, and other landscape features, and that work will take about a year, according to a news release.

According to a social media post from the Pro Skateboards and Snowboards shop on Quinpool Road, they are heading to the commons park for one final skate on Wednesday.

They say it is your last chance to get your tricks in before this version of the park is gone for good.

The common skatepark will be redone with a new layout, lights, and other landscape features, and that work will take about a year, according to a news release.

The path that goes from the intersection of Trollope Street and Bell Road and runs past the skatepark to Cogswell Street will be partly closed from Cogswell to the skatepark.

Although that path will be closed, you can still get to the playground from the Halifax Common pool walkway, which connects Cogswell Street to Bell Road.
