Police calls down in Barrington

According to the latest Shelburne RCMP reporting, police response calls have dropped nearly 40 per cent in Barrington.

Police released their “From the Cruiser” report, detailing the service calls received between July 1, 2025 and Sept. 30, 2026.

The report says police received 405 calls across Western Shelburne County, down from 670 calls during the same period in 2025.

The largest rise came in wellbeing checks, which rose from 18 service calls to 26 in 2026. The biggest decrease was in the general assistance/911 category, which fell from 40 calls to 12.

Traffic enforcement and road safety remained the majority of incidents outlined in the report. Of all 405 service calls 57 per cent of them were related to traffic complaints, enforcement activities and motor vehicle incidents.

Other categories that saw decreases included harassment, vehicle theft, sexual assaults and break and enter calls.

In the closing remarks, Staff Sergeant Jeff LeBlanc said the RCMP remains committed to serving the residents of Shelburne County and strengthening community partnerships that contribute to public safety and community well-being.
