Ben Floyd, MODL District 9 councillor, officially sworn in
Ben Floyd is now officially sworn in as the newest councillor for District 9 in the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg.
It happened at a council meeting Tuesday evening.
Floyd was elected in September by acclamation being the only candidate nominated for the seat.
MODL had been preparing to hold a special election on October 17, but that was no longer required.
The seat had been vacant since former District 9 councillor Ben Brooks resigned effective July 14.
The municipality says Floyd is a lifelong resident of District 9 and the owner of Nature’s Reflections Landscaping Ltd.
He has been actively involved in the community for many years and served as a volunteer firefighter with the Dayspring and District Fire Department.
The municipality says council and staff look forward to working with Floyd.
