Quispamsis and Rothesay will look at the use of e-scooters and e-bikes in the Kennebecasis Valley.

Teaming with the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, the towns have established a working group.

The group was put together in response to feedback from residents about the vehicles and the rules around their use.

The goal is to come up with consistent guidelines for speed and safety, as well as the use of roads, sidewalks and trails in both communities.

Residents will be kept in the loop as the review progresses and more information becomes available.

In a release, the police department said the shared objective is to promote the safe and responsible use of e-scooters and e-bikes throughout the Kennebecasis Valley, helping ensure that roads, sidewalks, and trails remain safe and accessible.
