Two men die in collision involving UTV in Tweedside

Two men from Harvey have died following a collision involving a utility task vehicle (UTV) and another vehicle in Tweedside, southwest of Fredericton.

Members of the St. Stephen RCMP responded to a report of the collision on Tweedside Road at about 2:44 p.m. on Saturday.

Police believe the crash occurred when a vehicle travelling south on Tweedside Road crossed into the opposing lane and collided with the UTV.

The two occupants of the UTV, a 52-year-old man and a 43-year-old man, both from Harvey, died at the scene as a result of their injuries, RCMP said.

The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old man from Fredericton, was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Members of Ambulance New Brunswick, the St. Stephen Fire Department and the RCMP’s Forensic Collision Analysis Team also attended the scene.

Tweedside Road was closed for several hours while investigators processed the crash scene but has since reopened.

RCMP said an autopsy has been scheduled for the two deceased men.

Investigators are still working to determine all the circumstances surrounding the collision.

ATV passenger killed in crash near Memramcook

A 53-year-old woman from Memramcook has died following a single-vehicle ATV crash in the community, according to the RCMP.

Police say members of the Sackville RCMP detachment responded to a report of the crash on Saint-Thomas Road at about 10 p.m. on Sept. 11.

The crash occurred after the driver lost control of the all-terrain vehicle, according to the RCMP.

Police explained that the ATV entered a ditch and fell onto its side.

The woman, who was riding as a passenger, was ejected from the ATV and died at the scene as a result of her injuries.

Police reported that the driver was not injured.

Members of the Memramcook Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick and the coroner’s office also attended the scene.

The RCMP said the investigation is ongoing.

Crash leaves two dead in Woodwards Cove

Two people from Grand Manan are dead following a single-vehicle crash in Woodwards Cove.

It was just after 2:00 a.m. on Saturday when RCMP responded to the report on Route 776.

Officers believe the their vehicle had crossed the centre line and went off the road into the woods.

The driver, an 18-year-old woman, and the passenger, a 21-year-old man, died at the scene as a result of their injuries.

Members of the Grand Manan Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick and the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office also attended the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

Two dead after collision on Hwy. 101 in Kings County

Two people are dead following a collision on Highway 101 in Kingston.

The accident happened on Tuesday, July 14, around 3 in the afternoon. Kings District RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to the report of a Kia Rio and tractor trailer that had collided.

The driver of the Rio, a 75-year-old woman from Middleton, and the passenger, a 28-year-old man from Middleton, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 33-year-old man from Lawrencetown, Annapolis County, was treated at the scene by EHS.

Hwy. 101 was closed for several hours while an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the location of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.

Procession to pay tribute to fallen paramedics

Emergency responders and others have come together on Friday to honour two paramedics killed in a tragic crash in New Brunswick.

A procession began in Saint John at 1 p.m. Friday. It is making its way to Prince Edward Island.

They are expected to arrive at Dingwell Funeral Home in PEI at around 6:30 tonight.

On Tuesday, on Highway 16 between Port Elgin and the Confederation Bridge, an Island EMS ambulance and a transport truck collided head-on.

RCMP say a 77-year-old woman from Montague, PEI, a 56-year-old man from Warren Grove, PEI, and a 23-year-old woman from Nine Mile Creek, PEI, died in the crash near Melrose.

Two were paramedics, and the third was a patient.

The driver of the transport truck also suffered what were believed to be serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Condolences have been pouring in on social media for all three victims, with memories and thoughts for the families and friends.

18-year-old Moncton man dies in car crash

A fatal crash took the life of an 18-year-old man from Moncton.

RCMP say it occurred on Saturday morning before 8 a.m. on Highway 2 in Moncton.

They believe the driver headed eastbound, left the road, and the vehicle ended up in the ditch.

The driver died from injuries at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
