Flu, COVID-19 vaccines available this month in New Brunswick
Flu season is on the horizon, and New Brunswick is ready with the latest vaccines.
New Brunswickers can get their flu shots and updated COVID-19 vaccines starting Oct. 13 as part of the provincial government’s respiratory illness prevention campaign.
Both are available at no charge to everyone age six months and older.
Chief medical officer of health Dr. Yves Léger says vaccinations are an important step everyone can take to protect their health and others.
“Receiving both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines can reduce the chance of becoming seriously ill, requiring hospitalization and spreading illness to others,” Léger said in a statement.
“If you are eligible for both, we encourage you to get them at the same visit.”
Appointments can be scheduled via the government’s website or by contacting a participating pharmacy.
Not all pharmacies are included in the online booking system, so it may be necessary to contact a pharmacy directly to confirm if appointments are available.
Vaccines are also available from select primary care providers.
