Long-term care home opens with 144 beds in Lower Sackville
More than 100 people in lower Sackville have a new home.
The Meadows long-term care home, run by Rosecrest Communities, opened Thursday morning with 144 rooms, each equipped with a private washroom.
The home also has space for occupational therapy, physiotherapy, as well as a hair salon and an outdoor garden.
Laurie Parsons, the administrator for Rosecrest the Meadows, says in a news release that it is very rewarding to see the vision come to life after years of planning.
“In this beautiful, new home, we are creating a truly unique long-term care community where residents, families, volunteers, and team members all contribute to something very special,” says Parsons.
It is part of the province’s plan to build or replace 5,700 long-term care rooms.
With this home, they have opened 1,200 and more than 2,000 rooms are under construction.
