Several appointments to regional health authority boards

The government has appointed new members to the Vitalité and Horizon Health Network Boards.

Four New Brunswickers have been named to the regional health authority boards, effective November 1.

Lizon Chiasson Foulem, with more than 25 years of experience in private practice, primarily in tax law, bankruptcy and insolvency law, and commercial law, will serve as Board Chair for Vitalité Health Network.

Rachel Arsenault-Ferguson has more than 40 years of management experience with involvement in several regional, provincial and international committees focused on education and economic development. She was also named to the Vitalité Health Network Board.

Maura McKinnon has been named to the Horizon Health Network board. She currently serves as the interim human resources executive for Health PEI and previously served as executive director of the New Brunswick Multicultural Council and vice-president and chief human resources officer for Nav Canada.

“These appointments reflect our government’s commitment to fostering strong leadership within New Brunswick’s health-care system,” said Health Minister John Dornan. “Their expertise and dedication will be invaluable in ensuring New Brunswickers have access to the right care, at the right time, close to home. I want to thank them for stepping forward to serve their communities in this critical capacity.”

In addition, the government says it is working to address a representation gap in the northwest region and will recruit a new member to fill this vacancy on the Vitalité Health Network board.

Legislation to support the transition to an elected board model is expected to be introduced in spring 2027.
