Fort Frances musuem advisory committee always seeking new volunteers
The Fort Frances Museum and Cultural Centre continues to seek volunteers for its advisory committee.
It has two seats vacant.
Member Paxton Hughes says they have received some interest.
“I believe we’ve gotten a few new members within the last couple of months,” says Hughes.
“One. . . came to committee in the last three, four months. So I think we’re making good progress, but we can always get more members and community people involved.”
Hughes is the committee’s first youth representative.
He was appointed last spring.
He says it has been a great experience.
“My experience as a youth member has been a great opportunity to learn more about our local history, the work of the museum and the important role that the advisory committee plays in supporting its success,” says Hughes
Paxton says the committee reviews draft policies, future capital projects, fundraising opportunities and ways to attract volunteers.
