Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario annual fall tour visiting Thunder Bay

The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario’s 11th annual Fall Tour is visiting Thunder Bay.

The organization’s CEO, Doris Grinspun, will be present to connect with local nurses and nursing students.

Grinspun plans to meet with registered nurses, nurse practitioners and nursing students to hear directly from the nursing community about the challenges they experience providing care and the solutions they envision.

“This year marks RNAO’s 100th anniversary, and there is no better way to honour this milestone than by amplifying the voices of nurses who are shaping our profession, the health system and society every day,” says RNAO Lakehead Chapter President Sarah Lynne Myllyaho.

“Their stories and perspectives are essential to driving change and building a stronger, more robust health system.”

A meet and greet event is taking place at the Bight Restaurant on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Grinspun’s next stop is a tour of Confederation College on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to hear from students and nursing leaders about implementing RNAO’s Transitions in Care & Services best practice guideline into the curriculum.

She also plans on networking with the broader community to learn more about local initiatives.

The Fall Tour runs between October 27 and November 5, with other stops in Toronto, Markham, Ottawa, Hamilton and Kingston.

“We’re eager to hear from members across the province and learn from their knowledge and lived experiences,” says Grinspun. “We encourage all nurses and nursing students to join the conversation and speak up about the issues that matter most to them and the communities they serve.”
