New spa aims to make St. Andrews a year-round tourist destination

A new Nordic spa in St. Andrews hopes to extend the appeal of the resort town beyond the summer.

Usva-by-the-Sea will have a ribbon-cutting Sept. 29.

Usva founder Geneviève Nolet said Usva-by-the-Sea creates a reason for people to visit Saint Andrews in every season.

“We’re proud to bring this vision to life in a community that has welcomed us so warmly,” she said. “And to build something that gives back to the local economy year-round.”

Mayor Steve Neil said it represents the kind of investment the community needs: creating jobs, extending the tourism season and bringing new energy to the local economy.

The spa sits next to the historic Algonquin Resort and has entered a strategic partnership with the hotel.

“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to St. Andrews’ long-term growth,” said Lydia Chen, president and CEO of InnVest Hotels.

“Usva-by-the-Sea complements the guest experience at the Algonquin Resort and strengthens the region’s appeal as a true year-round destination.”

The spa offers a full Nordic thermal circuit, including outdoor hot and cold pools, a Finnish sauna, a steam sauna and relaxation lounges.
