More than $1M of drugs, cellphones seized at N.S. jail
More than $1 million worth of contraband was seized from the Springhill Institution due to what Correctional Services Canada (CSC) describes “vigilant staff members”.
CSC says it included items like cannabis, hash and tobacco as well as cell phones.
The total estimated value was $1,161,500.
Springhill is a medium security federal institution.
CSC says they are heightening measures at the jail to prevent stuff like this from entering its institutions to keep everyone safe and to take action against anyone attempting to bring the products in.
Police have been notified and are investigating.
