Parents are being urged to stay vigilant following a troubling incident involving two children in Pictou around School Street.

RCMP say the encounter happened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, when the children were approached by a man driving a black truck.

Police describe the man as white, with black and grey hair. Investigators say he attempted to gain the children’s trust by offering them chocolate and claiming their grandmother had sent him.

The children refused and did not go with the man. He then left the area in his vehicle.

RCMP are now asking anyone who may have witnessed the interaction or has information about the incident to contact police.
