Moncton man arrested in child exploitation investigation
A Moncton man has been arrested after an RCMP investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
The RCMP said its Internet Child Exploitation Unit began the investigation in April 2025 after receiving information from the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.
Police said officers executed a search warrant at a home in Moncton on Thursday.
A 42‑year‑old man was arrested at the scene, and several electronic devices were seized as part of the investigation.
Mounties said the man was charged the next day in court with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
Police added that he was later released on conditions and is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
The RCMP is asking anyone with information about similar offences to contact their local police service.
Suspected child exploitation can also be reported to Canada’s national tip line.
The RCMP said anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1‑800‑222‑TIPS (8477), through the P3 Mobile App, or by using Secure Web Tips.
