Manitoba angler fined for fishing without a license
Fishing without a licence has cost a Manitoba angler dearly.
Back in August, 31st of 2024, a Conservation officer was doing a fishery inspection on the Winnipeg River near Caribou Falls.
There he found a fisherman, Michael Friesen, with 9 walleye and 3 northern pike in his possession.
It was discovered that he did not have an Ontario fishing licence.
As well, eight of the walleye and one of the northern pike were not of the size limit for the river.
He has been fined $2,700 and prohibited from fishing for one year in Ontario.
