OPP leaving reminders to Fort Frances motorists to keep the doors locked
Provincial Police are finding several vehicles in downtown Fort Frances left unlocked.
Police are conducting patrols to check for unlocked vehicles.
They are also leaving vehicle owners with a ticket, which reminds them of the importance of locking the doors and keeping valuables out of sight.
In a post to social media, OPP state, “don’t make it easy for thieves – lock your doors, remove valuables, keep keys and fobs out of sight, and never leave your vehicle running unattended.”
A recent case in Fort Frances saw culprits take a wallet from a parked vehicle in a residential area and use credit cards from it at area businesses.
Two individuals were eventually arrested and charged with fraud.
