StFX takes top spot in MacLean’s university rankings.
The 2027 MacLean’s rankings place St. Francis Xavier University third among Canada’s small universities, while also taking the number one spot for student retention and second nationally for reputation.
And that record has a long history: Maclean’s ranked StFX number one among primarily undergraduate universities for five consecutive years, from 2002 through 2006.
StFX attributes the recognition to smaller classes, hands-on learning, research opportunities and an emphasis on community involvement, reporting that 92 percent of first-year students are satisfied or very satisfied with their education.
