There will be a brief planned power outage early Friday morning in the areas of Yarmouth and Hebron.

Nova Scotia Power says it will between 5 a.m. and 5:10 a.m. for completing upgrades to improve service.

Roughly 9,800 customers will be affected in areas including

• Springdale,
• Port Mailtand,
• Sanford,
• Hebron
• Yarmouth
• Cape Forchu
• Sand Beach
• Central Chebogue
• Rockville
• Chebogue Point
• Lower Melbourne
• Little River Harbour
• Big Tusket Island
• Other neighbouring communities

Those affected will receive an automated phone call.
