Temporary pharmacy in District of St. Mary’s to close
The temporary pharmacy in the District of St. Mary’s is set to close in a matter of weeks.
In a statement on social media, the municipality says the decision comes from Shoppers Drug Mart and will take effect June 11.
The pharmacy will be transferred to the Shoppers Drug Mart in Antigonish at 303 Main Street.
The current location has been providing services since the previous location in Sherbrooke closed in 2025 due to structural concerns.
“The municipality has worked to support the continuity of pharmacy services by providing municipal space for the temporary modular facility,” says the municipality in the post.
The District of St. Mary’s is also currently looking for expressions of interest for a new pharmacy to be operated independently on Highway 7.
The current facility is in a parking lot and provides prescriptions and some over the counter medications but not a full range of services.
The deadline for expressions of interest is June 19.
